Melksham Town Council are pleased to be taking over the King George V Playing Fields and are proposing a programme of investment that will see the park rejuevenated for all generations to enjoy. The Council have completed extensive consultations throguhout 2018 and are looking forward to brining the new plans to life, starting in Spring 2019.

Melksham Town Council Town Hall, Melksham, Wiltshire, SN12 6ES Tel: (01225) 704187 Expressions of Interest – Cricketers Café KGV Recreation Ground Melksham Town Council is inviting expressions of interest for an operator for their Cricketers Café from March 2021.
The café is based in Melksham’s the stunning King George V Recreation area, where the Splashpad, children’s play area, sensory garden, gym trail, and the Town Council’s Amenity Team are based.
The Town Council is delighted to announce that the much awaited play area for King George V Park will be installed in January 2021, adjacent to the Splashpad.
After a comprehensive tendering process, Wicksteed Leisure were awarded the contract.
The Millennium mosaic was created as a commemorative community project in 2000 by Gill Goodhind, to celebrate the many groups and clubs in Melksham at the turn of the millennium.
It has been a focal point in the King George V Playing Field for twenty years, a huge spiral of stone slabs, including 45 individual mosaics depicting each group.
A new footway is being laid in KGV to connect the whole park and provide ease of access to its facilities.
Work is to commence on Monday 29th June.
The Town Council has adopted the Masterplan for the King George V playing Fields.
Along with this plan they have also outlined the groups of works to be carried out in phases as soon as funding for each phase is available.
We are absolutely delighted to announce that we have been successful in securing £93,138.
25 in funding towards the installation of the Splashpad.
