Today Melksham Town Council is honouring the memory of Sir Captain Tom Moore, who inspired millions through his life and his actions.

Sir Captain Tom Moore was a hero, a truly brilliant man inspirational, humble, determined, kind and motivated. In the dark days of the second world war, he fought for freedom. Not only did he unite us all, but he was a beacon of hope for the world.

The Union flag will be flown at half-mast today in tribute to a truly remarkable man. Rest In peace Sir Captain Tom Moore.

“If tomorrow is my last day, it’ll be a good one”
