Melksham Town Council are delighted to announce the appointment of a new chief officer.
Mrs Linda Roberts lives locally and will take up the post on 1 January 2019 and has over 20 years experience in Local Government as a Town and Parish Clerk and more recently as Head of Conferences Training and Eductaion with the Society of Local Council Clerks.
Melksham Town Council was saddened today to learn that Cooper Tires have commenced a consultation with their staff that could lead to up to 300 job losses in the light vehicle production workforce at the Melksham site.
The Town Council recognises that Cooper Tires are at the beginning of this process and at this stage no individual staff have been made redundant, but it is important to recognise in all discussions and speculation that individual’s livelihoods are at risk and we hope that the wider community will be mindful and considerate of those who may be affected.
At our Annual Council meeting on Monday 15th May, Councillor Adrienne Westbrook was re-elected as Town Mayor and Councillor Jon Hubbard as Deputy Town Mayor for the ensuing year .

Melksham skatepark is now open Work to provide a brand new skatepark for the Melksham community has been completed and is now available for the local community to use.

Solar Farm Community Benefit Following an agreement made in 2016 with Sandridge Solar Power Limited which has provided an initial community benefit fund payment of £34,425.
