Play Areas - Melksham has many play and recreation areas, only two are managed and maintained by Melksham Town Council - Methuen Play Area and Foresters Park Play Area.

Other play and sports areas are located at King George V Playing Fields; Lonsdale Gardens (Burnett Close); Speedwell Close; Hazelwood Road; Awdry Avenue; Riverside Walk; Queensway and Dorset Crescent/Daisy Close (managed by Wiltshire Council)

Tennis Courts: King George V Playing Fields (managed by Wiltshire Council)

Football/Rugby Pitches: King George V Playing Fields; Campion Drive; Melksham Oak School; Methuen Avenue (managed by Wiltshire Council)

Grasscutting - The Town Council is responsible for grass cutting the area surrounding St Michael’s Church; the closed churchyard; Foresters Park; and Methuen Avenue Play Area. In addition the Town Council has proactively undertaken to fund supplementary grass cutting in King George V Park and the Cemetery over the summer months given its concerns that the monthly cutting schedule organised by Wiltshire Council is insufficient to maintain these important community areas in a suitable and satisfactory condition.
